ADVANTAGES OF BECOMING A
MEMBER
Becoming a member of the
Brisbane Outboard Aquatic Touring Club Inc offers a number of advantages
to the boating person. The Club offers all members a forum to get
together and meet new friends with similar boating interests. The
B.O.A.T. Club has a lease of an area on South Stradbroke Island known as
Boathaven. Boathaven is a facility on Tippler's Passage, just
south of the Tippler's Resort.
HOW DO I JOIN AND WHAT DOES IT
COST? Becoming a member of the B.O.A.T. Club is as
simple as filling out a Membership Application and forwarding it to the
Club Secretary with the below fees (effective 1 July 2008):
Joining Fee - $100.00 (one-off payment for new members)
Member Subscription Fee - $180.00 - A pro-rata fee of $15.00 per
full month remaining if joining during the Club year. The Club
year is from July to June. The member subscription fee covers
the member, spouse or partner, unmarried children up to the age of 21
and grandchildren up to the age of 17. Grandchildren must be
accompanied by the financial member when visiting Boathaven. An
additional Capital Fund Fee of $80.00 is payable on joining and
annually thereafter. An optional fee of $60.00 per year may be paid for a storage locker at
Boathaven (if
available). Dingy racks may also be available at $40.00 per

BENEFITS
Becoming a Member of the B.O.A.T. Club also offers the
following benefits:
Members are permitted to invite day visitors to enjoy the benefits
of Boathaven on a limited basis. A voluntary donation for use of
facilities is appreciated.
Members are permitted to invite overnight visitors to Boathaven, also
on a limited basis. Overnight visitors are permitted to stay for
two nights in any seven day period but only four times in any one
year. A fee of applies to overnight visitors.
Naturally, ALL visitors must be accompanied by a financial member.
